Good enough for high school football?

Right I'm 16 years old and living in New Zealand. I applied with Education First to get a high school year overseas for 2011 in America. I am really keen to try out for a football team at school if I get over there. I'm 185cm, 80kg and above average in fitness level. I have played every day at my high school for the last three years, but being a smalll country we don't have American football here so we have been playing without the proper protective gear or anything, but I still have pretty good knowledge of the game. I play Quarterback and have been told by heaps that I have a wicked arm. I am very accurate in the 10-30 yard range and can throw for probably 50 yards. Do you think I would have a chance at all? And let me know if there's anything I could do to improve my game. Thanks

If you really like the sport and think you can succeed in it, I say give it a try and do your best. If you're looking to play in a college later on then you would really want to explode on the field. I play football so I know how it feels when you're wondering whether or not to play, because I was scared when I first played. I play WR (wide receiver). Hope that helps .
